“Make”
International design workshop “Make Design! Dutch Design Made in Latvia” has been successfully concluded. Its final event – pop-up exhibition “Make” which on 12 November 2011 was exhibited at Art Museum Riga Bourse – has travelled on to the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, Riga, where it is on show from 16 until 27 November 2011. The exhibition features works made during the creative workshop by students of the Art Academy of Latvia and Design Academy Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The focus of the workshop was to create new handmade designs using traditional techniques.
The workshop was conducted by internationally well-known design professionals – designer and architect Rianne Makink (Studio Makkink-Bey) and art and design critic and curator Jan Boelen (also founder and director of Art Museum Z33 and Head of the Master programme of Social Design at Design Academy Eindhoven).
